Nice but not for me "during" rides

Tastes ok. Kinda powdery which I don't mind after a ride but it's definitely not working for me during the rides.
No need to drink extra fluids though.

The citrus flavour is quite pleasant and inoffensive. These really give you a kick-start, I often take one with me on tough rides where there are a few mountains - they've brought me back from the brink a few times!
One slight problem (not worth removing a star for) is that they can be a pain to open. When you have sweaty hands it's not ideal to be spending a minute on the side of the road opening the packet.

Awesome as a recovery drink

This is touted as a 'during' and 'after' recovery powder/sachet. I have not tried this during training as I favour some of the other powders out there or the High5 energy sachets. Where this is brilliant is as a recovery drink. The mix combines carbohydrates and protein to assist in replenishing energy stores as well as muscle recovery. The consistency is a little tiny bit 'thicker' than a regular energy powder drink but the flavour is very good. The best part about using this product is it takes the edge off the savage hunger you can have after returning from an epic ride and seems to stop me gorging on unnecessary foods or the wrong foods. It also encourages hydration when it's very hot.
