Slim Bag

The saddle bag is well made and the attachment to the bike is great. It is large enough to hold essentials - tool, tube, air - and it looks good! It has two tire levers built in which is a very nice touch. I have a bit of difficulty attaching the system to my saddle - so I put a thin layer of rubber on the rails and no problems. All in all a great bag with a unique attachment system.

Fits discretely behind my saddle yet still has the ability to hold a great deal. The added tire levers were a great addition.

Finally the right Saddle Bag

For many years I've been looking for a saddle bag thats large enough to take all the bits you may need (including 2 x tubes & gas bottles) whilst being attractive to look at, compact, allowing room for tail lights and most importantly having a connection device that is reliable (i.e. they don't "fall" down the seat post) and easy to connect/disconnect. I've tried many but now I think I've found it with the Scicon Compact 430.

Compact and neat

Excellent compact saddle bag for short rides, although smaller than the 480 version it is a better shape and fits spare tube, multi tool, cash and spare link. Neat design with no rubbing on the seat post and tucks in well under the saddle. Easy to fix and remove and no rattle. Integrated tyre levers are a good feature

One of the best

Great sizing which fits all of the everyday needs. Clamshell zip makes the space readily accessible with no waste. Zero seat post rub. Saddle clamp is simple and effective

Best saddle bag

The quick turn is an easy, slick way to get to your tools without the drill of velcro straps, etc. We love them. Buying more!

bracket broke right away

The overall look and feel of the Scicon 430 looks great. I was having a hard time keeping the thumbscrew tightened. During rides it would loosen up. It eventually broke. Not impressed. Now it is unusable.

Good and Bad, but mostly Good

My impetus for purchasing a new saddle bag was to find one that wouldn't eat my riding shorts. With my old pair, the velcro that attached the bag to the seat post exposed enough of the attaching portion of the velcro strap to destroy 3 pairs of riding pants before I discovered the reason. The Scion Saddle Bag eliminates that danger, and attaches the bag simply and quite nicely, without using any velcro.

Now for the not-so-good part. The Compact 430 (-their medium size) is extremely small! I was able to enclose a tube, a mini-inflator, and two co2 cartridges. -That's it! I DID manage to squeeze in two tire patches and a tube of glue also, but the bag is now packed solid. -No room for anything else, like Allen keys or a mini lock. I can't imagine a practical use for the smaller size bag.

The unit appears well-made, and tomorrow I'll expose it to a full century in the hot Georgia sun. Time will tell!
