Thorn between shamal ultra and bora one to replace my aging zonda, I opted for the bora one 35 - the maximum my budget (wife) will allow. The difference is noticeable, bearing is smoother, the wheel is more stiff and responsive, I can feel the power being efficiently transformed on every pedal stroke. I don't have power meter I can't scientifically quantify the improvement. My speed improves few km/h in the same route that I am riding before with lower heart rate. The braking is at par with aluminum I can say both on stopping & modulating. Above 32 km/h speed the aerodynamics benefit is noticeable. The 35mm is good enough to cheat the crosswind, handling is not an issue even in an occasional surprise gusts across the road. I wish engine upgrade is available in probikekit, - larger capacity pump with lower bpm, bigger diaphragm that can increase VO2 max, & smoother ceramic joint bearings for three main leg joints. Thanks probikekit for the best price, good service and prompt tax-free delivery.

Campy Bora One 35 Clinchers - worth a close look!

I've been riding on Dura Ace C24's lately as they're a great all rounder and particularly useful when you live in a area surrounded by climbs. However, as age became more of an issue, I found it increasingly difficult to stay on wheels in group rides and thought a deeper rim might help. I did as much research as I could and taking all the facts into account, came up with the Campy One 35's. I've done a couple of thousand kilometres on them now and: 1. they roll beautifually 2. they have allowed me to squeeze out a few extra km/h and sustain it over longer periods and so lead out and stay on wheels 3. they are not affected much at all by cross winds 4. they climb as well as the C24's It's still early days so I can't yet comment on durability. They are considerably cheaper than comparative wheels so definitely worth a look.

Outstanding Wheels!

I've been holding out on carbon clinchers for a long time. Early versions had problems with braking, heat dissipation and tire blow off. The latest engineering has gotten a handle on these issues as well as adopting wider and more crosswind friendly design. I had narrowed my choice between these and the Mavic Cosmic Carbone 40. I chose the Boras because of the lighter weight (1395g actual) and the great PBK price. I also have had a great experience with the Campagnolo G3 spoke pattern (Eurus and Zonda). They have been trouble free and stiff in the right places. The combination of these 24mm rims and Vittoria Corsa G+ 25mm tires work really well together. The cornering is sublime. The spin up is fast and they are quite comfortable at the 35mm depth. I did just put them through a great early test doing the Ride Across Wisconsin, 178 miles (287km) in light rain on very hilly roads. Cross wind effect was a non issue. The braking was on par or better than my aluminum wheels and much better than my old Zipp 404 tubulars.

Awesome so far - incredible PBK price

So like many fellow cyclists, I too own many high end bikes and wheels. These are my first Boras. I chose the non-Ultra's as I just could not justify the additional cost of the Ultra's and I don't think most riders will benefit much from buying the Ultra's; the weight difference is nominal and durability of the bearings is yet to be proven by me. These wheels are exceptional. They spin-up / excel very fast and have a very nice feel. They also climb very well. I have yet to notice any lateral flex out of the saddle or on hard climbs and the ride is very good/smooth - even running 23mm tires. Aesthetically, these are simply beautiful wheels and the quality appears to be first rate. I only have a few hundred miles on them so far so durability is unknown. Given the incredible price at PBK, I don't know why anybody would spend more on other brands - except to save a very few grams.
