Not for cycling
1I'm a 30+ year rider. Wore it for the first time on a weekend ride. It's unwearable for any length of time with a helmet and I won't ride without a helmet. There is a large center seam right down the middle, and also a horizontal seam running the perimeter with the face opening. They meet right in the middle of my forehead so you have +-quadruple fabric thickness plus stitching coming together right where the front of your helmet should be snug to your forehead. I had a good 1/8" divot in my head after 40 minutes of riding that a day later is still sore. It was pretty painful after about 15 minutes. Luckily it warmed up enough and I had the presence of mind to pack my skull cap when I left. I really looked forward to the winter comfort this would bring but what were they thinking with the seam locations.

5Good fit, nice and warm, can be worn over mouth or on chin, stops wind, keeps head warm even in extreme cold. Washes well, keeps shape/form etc. Does what it says on the tin :)

4When riding during spring & autumn in cold regions, i find that my tuque is not good enough alone as a wind barrier, so i figured i could use a base layer for my head. I also need neck protection but not too bulky as it needs to fit under my zipped up garments. This fits the bill perfectly. Great wind stopper. The only problem i have with it is the tightness on my nose when i wear it ninja style. Maybe it wasn't designed for that, but it kind of works for me, at least it's bearable. Could be i have a big head, since my nose is pretty small.

5Excellent product nice fit does the job. Did a ride round Mole Famau in the week it was very cold, it was just right for cycling the hills etc.

4I got this with a discount bundle - I wouldn't have normally chosen it on its own. Saying that however, I'm very impressed by the function of this balaclava. It fits snugly (I'd say I have a medium sized head) and the front flap can either sit above or below your nose comfortably. The morning commutes haven't gone below 0 yet this year and the one time I tried to wear this at 0-2degs it was FAR TOO WARM. Which is probably a good thing as it means when it gets really cold over the next few months I'll be able to wear it often. Very impressed with the build quality and it's comfortable and warm - what more could you possibly want!
