One of the most popular and winning helmets on both the road and mountain bike circuits. This helmet adjusts to your head on two axis's, firstly for head circumference and then horizontally to better accommodate the position of your occipital lobe, the sticky-out bit on the back of your head!
Key Features:
- For extra comfort the Twin Axis Gear (TAG) arms are co-moulded with soft rubber resulting in the most adjustable, comfortable and easy-to-use fit system ever.
- Deeply sculpted ventilation channels on the interior of the helmet liner brings cool air in through the front, passes it over the head and flushes warm air out of the rear ports to keep the air moving no matter where you are riding.
- In-moulding is the process of bonding the helmet micro shell to its EPS foam layer to provide a sturdier, more solid helmet, allowing lighter weight design and bigger vents with no loss of strength.
- Detachable low profile and colour matched Variable Position Visor (VPV) visor with 15 degrees of movement to keep sun and rain at bay.
- This process was pioneered by Bell and is now the industry standard for all high-end helmets.
- Meets CE EN1078 certification.

Faultless
I have had this helmet for 6 years and use it on my everyday commute and for many triathlon and group rides. I have replaced the liner twice but apart from that everything is as new. Given that I live in the tropical north of Australia with more than average sunshine this helmet just lapped it up. Would definitely buy another one although this one is still good for a few more years yet as they are made so well.
Very adjustable so can be tailor-fitted
There are so many adjustables on this helmet that it makes it really versatile and you can get the fit spot on. Highly recommended. NB I have a narrow head so do not agree with a previous review about fit and shaped head.
Very good quality helmet and comfortable
Ive had this helmet for about a year and have never wanted a different one. It fits my head very well and has plenty of vents to keep it cool. Fits well with or without a hat on underneath.
Good but not the best fitting helmet for me.
Good helmet that has plenty of air vents and is light and does its job, but for me I found the giro ionos the helmet for me... so much lighter that you hardly notice it and more air vents then the bell sweep.
Small size great for women
I love this helmet for myself but it turns out that the size small was also great for my wife. It's low-profile enough to fit her perfectly and look great.
Can't ask for much more.
Top Helmet
Everything you want in a helmet, lightweight, cooling, fits well and looks good. Also does what is required in a crash i.e. protect your head. Currently wearing an opposition helmet as my Sweep was destroyed in a crash but it will be replaced. Two minor complaints; it gets pretty manky and you need to wash the pads occasionally. Not hard take it into the shower. Lack of colour choice, silver/white is OK but would prefer black/carbon!
I fail to see why the top of the line Volt is so much dearer as they are effectively the same lid.
Great value and fit
The Bell Sweep is an excellent quality helmet that is up there in terms of fit and comfort. It has been on the market for a while but that's not a bad thing - no need to change. After 2 years use I have no complaints, the ventilation is good and it is also excellent value for such a quality helmet.
Light, ventilated and stable
Hard to beat for the price.
This helmet is quite lightweight, has nice ventilation (quite important to me) and the tightening system is hard to beat. Doesn't rock from side to side, stays seated very well while never being too tight (you don't have to over tighten to prevent it from moving).

Really depends on fit
The difference between the Bell fit and Giro fit:
Ideal head shape for Bell - O
Ideal head shape for Giro - ()
Having a very round head makes the Bell Sweep fit perfectly.
A narrower head should go for the Giro.

This helmet is light, stylish and vents well.
The strap adjustment is easy and quick to change on the fly.
My only complaint with this helmet is that it needs to be cleaned (the pads get a bit stinky) more often then helmets I have had in the past.
Otherwise this helmet really rocks the show and makes me feel like a pro.
