Garmin as a brand are synonymous in the sphere of cycling tech. With a product like the Garmin Vector 3 power meter pedal, it's easy to understand why the US-brand is such a respected name in the industry.

This third attempt at a pedal-based power meter has ironed out some of the issues earlier versions faced. It's now simple to install, offers an industry-leading +/-1% accuracy, and looks virtually indistinguishable to an ordinary Look pedal.

Dual-Sided Power Meter

A single-sided power meter can be an excellent option if you're limited in budget, but it's undeniable that if you want to get the most accurate and usable data then dual-sided is the way to go. With a single-sided power meter, power is recorded on the left crankarm and doubled; with a dual-sided, pedal-based power meter an independent reading is taken from both the left and right pedal. This means that any discrepancies in the watts coming from each leg can be detected. In a single-sided power meter, if you have a power imbalance in one leg this won't be detected.

The Garmin Vector 3 does more than just take an independent reading for both legs. As a Garmin product you'll also be able to tap into their detailed Cycling Dynamics. In this you can identify where pressure is being put through the pedals, helping to identify whether your cleats are in the right position. You can also see your Power Phase (when power starts to go through the pedals and stops) and time spent sitting and standing. So, if you're a data junkie you certainly won't feel short changed.

Battery Power And Getting Going

The Garmin Vector 3 power meter pedal is operated by four, simple-to-install LR44/SR55 coin-cell batteries, which will provide up to 120-hours battery life.

What's more, with the Vector 3 the finnicky installation process of previous iterations is gone. Though Garmin still recommend torquing your pedals to 35Nm, if you don't it won't affect the accuracy of your device. Once it's physically installed, the software system set up is simple and intuitive. A light on the spindle will indicate the device is working as it should (or not, but in that unlikely event, Garmin offers a number of troubleshooting guides). Once your device is up and running, you'll be able to pair it to a bike computer or indoor trainer via ANT+ or Bluetooth. After a simple zero-offset, you’re good to go.

What Does Refurbished Mean?

These products may be refurbished but that doesn't mean they don't meet the same specifications as a brand-new Garmin Vector 3. The devices come with a new pedal body, include a new set of Look Keo style cleats, and have a two-year warranty. In short, it would be virtually impossible to distinguish these from a new device.

Inaccurate with frequent dropouts

Bought these pedals after much tinkering around I could never get them to read accurate power.

Exceeded all expectations

The reviews you are reading here are no joke. The pedals look to be brand new (no blemishes, no scuffs, no wear at all), and have fresh batteries. They synced easily and work seamlessly with my trainer and Wahoo ELEMNT. Thank you very much Pro Bike Kit for this amazing offer, easy transaction and quick delivery!

Refurbished??

These are brand new! I have no idea how you guys do it, but I've been waiting for a good power meter deal, and this is by far the best! They connect perfectly with my Wahoo Roam too and they are beautiful! Thank you!!

Brilliant

Arrived quickly and as new condition, amazing price Can’t ask for any more

Garmin Vector 3 reconditioned pedals

Wouldn't know they were reconditioned, in official box, immaculate! They have worked with my Hammerhead 2, showing basic data, and I really love them - so much so I've ordered my husband some as well!

Great Value

These pedals/power meters are a great buy for the price. They say refurbished but they are brand new pedals. The only difference is that you get a white box that says refurbished instead of the black one you get when you purchase the “new” ones. They are less than 50% off the regular price and have performed great.

Unbeatable value for dual-sided power

Extra-cost delivery to US not as fast as PBK claimed, but that could be on DHL too. Pedals were perfect when they arrived EXCEPT for near-dead batteries. With fresh batteries, these pedals have been fine. Only trouble has been they won't readily connect with Garmin's iPhone app to calibrate, but that's easily done with Garmin head unit (my Edge 530). With the latest battery door update, Vector 3 pedals are minimally different than their latest Rally RK (Keo-compatable). IMHO best value going for reliable dual-sided power.

Reliable and portable power meter

Ordered these pedals in mid-August after seeing an ad for them on Facebook, and I was a little skeptical at first given the impressive price drop compared to retail price. The pedals arrived eight days later in an original Garmin box and showed absolutely no signs of use. I've now tested these on two rides, the longer one lasting five hours, and the data transmission is responsive and never drops. The threaded axles are slightly wider than most pedals so some threaded axle will bulge out from the inside face of the crank: I had a 2mm margin to the chain on my Campagnolo Centaur chainset-side crank when in heaviest gear which is enough, but with the provided spacers you should be able to decrease this distance. Time will tell whether the pedals continue working in the coming years!

Vector 3

The pedals arrived fairly quickly and ready to be installed. Although it claims "reconditioned", everything appears brand new and in excellent working order. Pedals are installed and great! Thank you.

Garmin pedals

Nice pedals, paired easily to a wahoo element, power and cadence sim to be accurate, great price.
