Scicon travel bag

5Used it for first air trip. Easy to pack and move. Accepted by airline (Qantas domestic) without issue. Bike arrived safely. I turned handles and moved rear derailleur as a precaution. Wished I had the money to buy one years ago.

2I bought 2 of these from PBK. We travelled from Australua to Spain and Italy. The bike packs well but the castors were poorly fitted and three came off in transit and ball-bearings came out too. Looks a very poor assembly by the factory. Nuts were loose and appeared only hand tightened. I am now in Italy travelling with only 7 castors and will need to try and find replacements.

2Very happy with the bag. My gripe is with it not being clear that the bag was sourced from the UK and thus I had to pay customs duty. Therefore the purchase was not the value for money that I was expecting.

4I purchased this bike case to replace my Tri All 3 case, which has been great to me for several years, but has recently cracked at the base, which partially disabled the one of the caster wheels. So with that case steering to whatever direction it wishes, its time to move on. Also it is so big, that I need to rent a minivan or truck to attend races, from the airport, as it will not fit in mid or large sedan. The Scicon seemed to be the perfect solution. It wheels perfect, sturdy construction and ease of use are ideal. It fits in the back seat of sedan with no major adjustments. The only reason I have not given this case a higher rating is due to the lack of space near the real derailer. The guard works fine to protect the side of the derailer, however, my bike, a Specialized Shiv may not work for this case. My cable to rear derailer stick out to the rear of the bike, the bike case does not allow space for that simple part. I am worried to use this next month for my race. If the rear of the bike case receives any pressure or impact, I feel my derailer will be damaged. It is not a result of inadequate padding or construction, but I may have to improvise a way to protect that with a plastic bowl, or container of sort, to try and create some space.

5I have had this bag for a couple of years now, and it never fails to impress. Even going through many airports and being handled by loads of heavy handed baggage handlers in many different countries, my beautiful bike has not sustained any damage. The bag is extremely easy to pack, and it is clear that Scicon have thought about everything for you so you don't have it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
