New for 2018-2019, the Garda-W is an update to the robust Garda DS. The rim has moved over to a wide-rim variant, while the hub has been updated with improved weather sealing. The duplex-spoke lacing remains, yielding a great looking, smooth-rolling wheel that can provide the longevity of a training wheel with the heart of a racing wheel that just keeps on going, mile after mile and year after year.
GARDA HUBS
The updated version of the Garda 2.0 hub has improved weather seals, with a combination of a cartridge bearing in the hub shell and durable cup & cone bearings inside the freebody. The hub offers a stable feel and improve power transfer, especially for sprinting and climbing. Note that the hub parts for the Garda-W using the Garda 2.0 hub are not compatible with the Garda DS.

Fantastic for the price
Just got these wheels today after waiting more than 2 weeks to have them delivered to the states. Though I haven't ridden them yet, they were worth the wait. Fresh out of the box, I put the wheels in the truing stand and the front was perfect. The rear needed a minor tweak. The hubs spin very smoothly. The wheels are tubeless compatible and were supposed to come set-up. However, the valve stems were not included and the rim tape appears to be some sort of porous material which I doubt would seal. I set them up with regular clincher tires & tubes. They are wide - 19mm inner width and 24mm outer width and they are heavy at 1935 grams without the skewers which weigh an additional 105 grams. I bought these for training so the extra weight will make me that much stronger :) For the price, I think these wheels are an exceptional bargain.
