Great training/racing wheelset
5I bought these wheels after reading, watching, and researching almost every wheelset in this weight and pricepoint. I'm a 90kg/200lb 40 year old rider that usually races Cat 3 on a good day and mostly do gran fondos or competitive club rides. I have ridden for over 23 years and have had multiple wheels and bikes. I needed a wheel set to keep up with my weight and current riding style. I found that I could spend alot and ride a lighter wheelset but realistically I would have to replace them in a few years due to spoke replacement or rim fatigue. Carbon is not a good option for my decision in a clincher rim because I didn't want to have to worry about braking surfaces and overheating. So after much deliberation, I purchased the Fulcrum Quattros. Delivery to the US was within about a week, and packaging and handling were excellent. I opened the box to find that these wheels were handbuilt and inspected, true and balanced. The product was spot on with advertised weights and overall looks were impressive. The labeling is simply paper stickers but look great. I also noticed that the bearing covers are made of a plastic cap that clips into place. I have no doubt that it will be fine for miles to come. The braking surface is a milled finish and the extra width of the rim really opened my tires up to a much nicer profile that my previous rims. The bearings are a quality set of sealing replaceable units that rely on the individual bearing seals to keep contaminates out. I would like to see a second set of seals and knowing now, I would have probably paid the extra few dollars to buy the CX set if the weights are within a few grams. My first ride was a 70 mile endurance ride over flat to rolling terrain with both a head and tail wind of about 10-12mph. I can say that these wheels are not mountain climbers but are not overly resistant to climbing. I noticed that I had to put a bit more effort into climbing but once the pace slowed to a grind, the wheels were very responsive and would transfer energy on each pedal stroke if I was slack in my form. However, I believe the strength of these wheels is when you are at tempo or pressure pace. I didn't feel like I was gaining speed as much as I was holding it. The wind was varied in its direction throughout the ride and I only noticed on a few occasions that the wheels were pushed around due to large trucks or cross winds. If you are a solid rider you will not have any issues with the extra rim height. Overall, I am very pleased with these wheels from Fulcrum. I knew going into this purchase that these were not intended to be a upper level weight saving wheelset. I bought these wheels to beat on and to provide a durable piece of equipment to keep my down time minimized during training and riding. I believe that these will work nicely and fit the niche perfectly. As far as the price goes, I couldn't find anything to beat the deal. If so I would writing a different review.

5Ok so I've had them two weeks and have about 120k on them. Super strong and pretty aero. They are little difficult to spin up. But once you are rolling they keep going and don't slow down. Great breaking surface with my Campy Potenza brakes they stop fast. I'm running 27cm Ritchey's and they fit really well. Bearings are super smooth. I have some Campy Shamals which I love but wanted some wheels I could beat up and not care. Perfect training set. For the price you can't get a better wheelset!! I'd buy them again and again.

1After 6 months reasonable usage the bearing in the front wheel need replacing. previously used Mavic and never had to spend a penny on servicing. Will never use Fulrum wheels again

5I have bought this set of wheels as a replacement for my standard alloy wheel-set that I have got with my bike. Since first ride I could feel the difference. I was amazed by the stiffens of this wheel since the firs ride (for an alloy they are really stiff). I can honestly tell You if I would need another pair of alloy wheels i would definitely go with this set again.

5Im a Clydesdale Rider and needed a light set of bullet proof wheels and so far i love these. Stiff but comfortable nice power transfer of power to ground and stylish just finished a century ride on them and no complaints

4Bought these to replace my ageing Fulcrum 5's, which have served well for several years. The deeper profile of the Quattro seems to make the bike stiffer & more responsive. Better rolling & more positive braking. I rate these as good as or better than other much more expensive wheels on the market. Delivered quicker than expected, well packaged & true out of the box.

5This is a great wheelset at a great price, you can't go wrong and won't be disappointed. Quiet ride, really nice how they make the tire 'wider' for a little more comfort while not sacrificing any performance. Would certainly buy them again.

5I bought these an an upgrade to the stock Axis 2.0 wheels that came with my Specialized 2015 Roubaix and wow what a difference. The wheels are strong and light and roll beautifully. I hit eleven Strava segment PB's on my first 50km test ride and am consistently 2-3kmph faster on these wheels. The service from PBK was excellent both in terms of price and (free) delivery times. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.
