OK for the money

I have had a set of these for commute bike and they do offer pretty good value for money, but am now on Fulcrum 5 and agree with previous poster that Fulcrum 5 is a better wheelset in terms of value for money. Already lasted longer than Fulcrum 7's and stil going strong

Relaible Budget Wheels

Reliable set of wheels that are ideal for both training and club runs.

Great training wheels

These came with my Cervelo S2 that I bought a few years ago and are still true, surprisingly since the roads here are not the best. They roll pretty fast for a heavier wheelset but overall I'm pleased with their performance. The free hub is a bit loud, but it you can't have it all.
Overall, a very solid wheel for a great price.

Mixed feelings about these wheels

The Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels came on my 2010 Cervelo R3. I am impressed by how well the rims have stood up to the punishment local roads (Montreal) dish out on bikes (heck, I have bent car rims on potholes here). These are definitely sturdy wheels, I have not had to true them yet.
On the other hand, I have had dozens of flats caused by the rim strip moving while riding. I've had to get "bandage" tape from a local pharmacy and run a layer of that around inside both wheels to stop the rim strip from moving around.
I am half tempted to think the rim strip moves around in the rain because the flat I just had this week--on the front wheel, with all those last year being on the rear--came two days after riding in heavy rain; and, of all silly things, the actual flat happened while I was riding my rollers.
In all cases, the punctures were on the "inside" of the tube, and easily matched to a position where the rim strip was moved enough for a small gap to have formed to let the tube peek into the hole for the spoke nipple.
So, mixed feelings, the resilience these wheels have shown on bumpy roads is great, the rim strip problem is annoying. I will probably replace these wheels and use them on my bad weather bike (with yet more medical tape wrapped around over the rim strip).

Make for a great training tire.

I got a pair of these with my new Specialized bike. They are well built and solid but at almost 2,000g (4.4lbs) they're a bit on the heavy side. I have been using them as training wheels and they work great for that purpose.

...should carry on rolling long after the opposition

Since their launch in 2007 these entry level wheels have been found on a lot of the most highly rated bikes we've reviewed. They're a carbon free zone and not the lightest, but the Racing 7s make up for this by being tough hoops that should carry on rolling long after the opposition have given up the ghost. They have oversized hubs, steel bearings that run smoothly and highly tensioned steel spokes laced radially, the rear 24, with 16 on the driveside-but both sides are evenly tensioned-keeping the rims true longer.

Great training wheels

Rode on some rough roads and these wheels are still as true as new. A bit on the heavy side, but hey, that's what training wheels are for.

Strong Smooth wheelset for racking up the miles

Bought these as my wet weather and trainer wheelset. They are perfect for that purpose.

Straight and true out of the box, quiet freewheel and still straight after many miles of abuse. If you are looking for a good, cheap and reliable wheelset, it's hard to look past these. Preferred over WH-R500 which I have owned.

bullet proof

The bearings on the Racing 7's are smooth, nice looking and bullet proof..

Im 155lb rider and roads here in Toronto are not the most ideal for road bikes..however these wheels perform very well.. so far after 1800 kms of abuse the wheels are still true.. they are entry level.. but solid...

I figure, instead of upgrading to 5's or 3's which are lighter in weight.. I'll just loose some pounds ...

Good Training Wheels

I bought a pair of these for training and everyday riding. You can't beat the price and quality. They are a little heavy for racing but if you have two sets and use these for training and lighter ones for racing your off to a good start. Solid entry level wheels with a good price.
