Loads of lightweight, puncture resistant grip

I have enjoyed these tires. Combine them with a latex tube & for their weight they are the gripiest combination that I've used. Although they come up slightly short on wet grip to the Conti 4000s, each tire weighs 40 grams less than each of the 4000s tires. That means that I can shave 80 grams of rotational weight at the most extreme point of rotation. So in dry conditions & where there is significant climbing to be done, more often than not I choose to roll on these.

I have put around 1000 miles on the Atoms & haven't yet experienced a flat & have only suffered one significant cut in the tread. That cut was the work of a 3x1mm piece of glass that I pulled out of the tread the other day, still, no flat. Another time, I was run off of the road during a crash at a race. After riding through the bur & sticker infested grass for 20 meters, I managed to get back on the road & watched my tires with bated anticipation expecting them to deflate & thwart my efforts to bridge up to the group ahead. To my astonishment, the tires never went flat - of course without the convenience of a puncture, my failure to bridge up was mine alone. But what a relief it is to know that these tires will do their darndest to shirk off punctures & keep me rolling.

For their lightweight , considerable & predictable & resilience to punctures, these are my go to tires for most races now.

Blow out

Hutchinson are a ok ride , feel like tubulars , but had a flat and change the tire and the sidewall blew out not once , but twice . Had to call a cab to get home . Saw reviews later on line and saw other riders had the same thing happen . Oh yeah the rear tire did not wear .
