Works as a deluxe winter training tyre or a reliable race tyre
4Works as a deluxe winter training tyre or a reliable race tyre.. it’s harder to puncture than the racier Michelin Pro 3 or the Gatorskin and rolls a bit quicker than the latter. If you can swallow the price it’s viable as a winter training tyre. For competition it’s more reliable than racy.
Report this reviewPerfect do everything tyre
5My cyclocross bike has become my do everything bike. I commute on it, train on it, haul my son's trailer with it, I have even raced on it a couple of times. The GP 4season is the perfect companion tyre. In a 28mm size I can ride down a long dirt road without fearing a flat on the way, I don't get many punctures on the road despite living in a city covered in broken glass, and they are still grippy and roll OK. There may be faster, longer lasting and even more puncture resistant tyres out there, but I haven't found one that does all three things so well.

4Only recently installed these in 28mm after reading plenty on forums about the trend to wider tyres and slightly less than maximum tyre pressure. Found them really tight & difficult to fit onto the rims (broke one tyre lever & chipped another and unstuck some rim tape, hence 4 stars), so I don't know how I will go fixing a flat after dark in the driving rain...hopefully they live up to their bullet-proof reputation so I won't have to find out soon. Not a great fan of the brown hatching on side of tyre, but that's minor: my tyres end up getting pretty smashed on Sydney streets. After 500km have had no troubles: roll about as fast as Conti GP4000 in 25mm, and handle well in wet and dry.

I used to get 2-3 punctures a month cycling to work about 22km each way. I weigh 108kg and get about 2000km out of a set of 4 seasons tires, I have been using them for about 18 months and have not had a puncture yet. My son turned me on to these tires, he weighs <65kg and raced competitively he used the 4 seasons tires for training and got 20,000km out of a set.
Other tires seem to collect glass which slowly works it's way through. These tires seem to spit it out.
Perfect Tire for Spring races and Wet conditions
5Using the 25mm version, unbeatable in adverse conditions, bullet proof casing, supple and pretty fast. Decreasing PSI in wet allows you to blast away on tricky descents when others start to skid out. I have not ridden the Vittoria Pave since it would be the only tire worth comparing to that is on the same level. Compared to the Gatorskins the GP 4season is more supple and faster. Did 2 rain races on these tires and can only recommend it.

5I've been running the 28s on my rear wheel for a couple of months now (paired with a narrower tire on the front) and these exceed expectations. Comparatively light for what you get. Seemingly bombproof. Grip and corner nicely even (especially?) in the wet. These are solid enough in the puncture resistance department that I would recommend running them with a latex tube to decrease weight and increase suppleness. Great rubber.

5Forget Gatorskins - they have the reputation which the, frankly, far superior 4Seasons deserve. I often leave these on well into Spring but certainly don't feel as though I am being restricted by a 'winter tyre'. Give them a go and you're unlikely to go back.
Report this reviewHard wearing. Lots of grip. No punctures.

Excellent grip, can really feel the difference against Continental Sports I had on before. I have done around 500 miles on it so far and no puncture and no sign of wear so can see them lasting a long time. Also do seem faster than the Sports although have no accurate way of measuring this.
Highly recommended.
best conti for real life

In sum -
currently running conti 4000S after reading rave reviews - three punctures in 500km, numerous deep cuts and nicks. ptractically useless already for hard training on dodgy glass-strewn roads.
before that conti 4000 - several punctures, split casing huge number of cuts and nicks - lasted 2k.
Before that conti 4 seasons - ran them for about 7k - 1 puncture in total - even as the rubber became completely worn thru there were no punctures, few nicks and scratches.
Can't tell any difference at all between the three of them for handling - conclusion? Back to 4 seasons for me. Quickly.

Continental's Grand Prix 4 Season is a winterised version of the GP4000 race tyre. It has the same bead-to-bead Duraskin mesh as the Conti Gatorskin, and two breaker strips under the tread made of Vectran, a synthetic fibre. It’s pretty tough.
The tread compound seems durable yet grips well on wet roads. Its rolling performance is merely okay, but then no tyre excels at everything, while many are good at two out of three from grip, toughness and speed. It’s a sound choice where reliability and road-holding top your priorities.
