5Lovely little tool did job perfectly, will pay for itself

Simple and effective tool
5Recently i bought a new PF30 BB and instead of sending it to a bike shop to replace my current BB i decide to take matters into my own hand after watching how easy it was to remove my BB and replace with a new BB. Since it is about removing my BB shell, i felt it was important enough to have the right tool so as not to damage my BB. It should fit into your PF30 shell easily and push it to the end. Just use a small hammer to push out the BB cup from the other end. The Park tool is well build and it holds the bearing and cup perfectly. It won't even damage the cartridge fixed on the PF30 shell. It will push the cup out together with the bearing. Alittle pricey for a tool that you don't really need to use always. But it works perfectly and is very well made. A home mechanic must have tool dealing PF BB.

Great tool for the job
5As ever from Park this is a great tool. The metal end sits perfectly inside the bearing, the blue plastic guide does a great job of keeping everything square. Excellent tool.

It's grrrrrreat
5You honestly don't need any more than this. It gets the bearing out a treat with no damage to bike or bearings. It honestly couldn't be simpler and safer. To top it off, buy a 200mm length of m16 threaded rod, 2 x m16 nuts, 2 x m16 washers (£10 the lot from eBay), add the bushings that come with this tool, and hey presto......a bearing press that works as well as a £200 pro tool. Plus, Probikekit are cheap and deliver quickly.

Does the job well
5After spending £15 for my LBS to fix the creaking BB30 only for the noise to return within the week it made sense to add another specialist item to my cycling toolbox as it appears it will quickly pay for itself. The blue bit slots nicely into either the bearing still in the BB or the BB shell meaning no issues with lining up the tool when driving out the bearings. The two bits to assist with the reinstallation of the bearings were invaluable too when pressing the bearings back in (using, in my case, a homemade bearing press). Both bearings out, all cleaned, back together, noise gone, job done. Only thing I don't like is the impact on my BB from the side when driving out the bearings. But nothing Park can do about that with this tool.

Clever Tool
5Excellent. Worked perfectly. It even worked in reverse ( instead of tapping out the far bearing, it hooked into the near bearing and a friend tapped it out the other way ). The reason I wrote this review is because a short length of M20 rod fits perfectly on the cup flanges included with this tool. Excellent to get the bearing back in.

Parks BB30 PF30 Tool
5Excellent product does exactly what it needs to do with minimum effort, well packaged to keep it nice. Great having the extra bearing press shims in the kit which ive used on my own home made press.

Park Tool BBT-30 Tool
4The tool does exactly what it is designed to do and is very easy and efficient to use. I have tried a friend's home made one, but this is so much better and requires less effort to knock the bearings out; very reassuring when used on a carbon frame! The only downside is the price that Park Tools always charge, but Probikekit had one on offer so I bought it - no regrets!
