Shimano Ultegra PD-6800 Pedals are made of a carbon composite that's both durable and lightweight. The pedals feature an extra-wide platform for maximum, efficient transfer of power.
The stainless steel body plate reduces flex and wear, and the pedals also feature a wide bearing placement for stable, uniform load distribution.

So my review is based on a comparison between these and your basic clip in pedals, so upgrading to these for an average user is as below: - So to answer all the weight weenies questions out there YEAH they are lighter - yes they have a wider surface for your foot - they don't spin back as easily for your foot to lock in when you stop at lights etc - they are not the difference between night and day So buy these in my opinion if - you are new to clip ins and buying between the basics clip ins and these as you will get used to these - your clip ins are busted - you have money to burn Don't buy these - just for the sake of upgrading to ULTEGRA branding - if there is nothing wrong with your basic clip ins then don't buy these to expect amazing changes by reduced weight and a wider base To be honest I actually prefer the basic ones for my preference, cheaper and easier to clip in and out as the heaveier pedals spin to neutral position much easier and spin one.g. If smoothness is 9 for ultegra then the basic ones are a 8 so not a huge difference. So just my opinion, there will always be a few different kinds of people who think - I'm full of it and incorrect in every way - who are just looking for a justification to upgrade, so to those I say these are great lighter and smoother go for it - and those who will be smart and wait for their basic clip ins to die before they waste more money So I hope this helps someone out there make a decision
As always PBK delivered quality product(s) at a better than competitive price which meets or surpasses expectations. PBK continue to remind me why they are my first choice for gear
Great price and the best pedal I've owned!
Love these pedals and when they are on sale, you can't beat the deal.
Excellent pedals that replaced my 20 year old Time pedals. Best price anywhere!
I had been looking to change my pedal for a long time...Now that I have I am glad I did. These are the bomb, smooth and with the wide platform great power to the road. Would recommend these at this price. Delivery was also so quick had them in 5 working day to NZ. great work probike.
Pedals were shiftly dispatched and received in a reasonable time to New Zealand. I had been riding with Shimano pd-r540 as a beginner to spd-sl cleats and decided to upgrad. The immediately more notable features were the wider plate and much more secure clipping in. I thought carbon would be wear faster than the pd-r540 metal casing but they are much sturdier and very solid. Highly recommend as a solid upgrade, especially at the current price which is a market leader.
Great service, every aspect of purchase was excellent. Thanks
Great buy at best online price. Delivery took less than two weeks
