Cut to fit the contours of the body in the riding position for maximum comfort, the Castelli ‘Free 3’ jacket simultaneously provides an outstanding aerodynamic performance, long-lasting comfort and a sleek look in the saddle.
Constructed from Castelli’s purposefully engineered Windstopper® X-Fast fabric, the jacket offers a weather-resistant structure for a cool, dry experience in the saddle. Silicone gripper at the waist prevents the jacket from riding up while a full YKK® Vislon front zip fastening allows you to gauge and control the level of breathability you require when training or racing. The advanced design of the ‘Free 3’ jacket also features Thermoflex side panels for extra breathability and internal Thermoflex wrist cuffs to seal out the cold.
The ‘Free 3’ jacket sports a stylish blue and black design featuring three external rear pockets for conveniently storing racing essentials on the go. Complete with signature Castelli branding to the chest and reverse. – L.R.

Good cold weather jacket
I've done a couple of 2+ hour rides in near zero temperatures wearing this jacket so far. For both rides I wore two thin baselayers underneath (short and long sleeve).and was comfortable throughout, neither too hot nor too cold. Castelli sizing continues to perplex. I am 5'7" and 69kg, so not huge, but found the best size for me is XL. This is strange because I have a Gabba in size Medium which also seems to fit me! Granted the Gabba is form fitting whilst this Free jacket is a more relaxed fit and will allow for extra layers. It's still a nice fit in terms of sleeve/tail length and no flapping anywhere, and it looks pretty good too IMO.
Castelli Free 3 Jacket
Very, very, warm and waterproof, including the arms. I have several other jackets that allow water to seep in and saturate my forearms.. Not with this jacket. I am very surprised as I only need two thin layers underneath and am warm all day long. I don't sweat so I am never impressed with jackets that boast "wicking away" properties. I just need something to keep me warm and snug. The Castelli Free 3 does just that..
