I use this tire for training and it is great. My one issue was that the tire got cut up quite easily, not in a major way, but it barely ever flatted which was impressive. The wear indicators are great for knowing when the tire needs replacing and the nit of tread makes the tire a bit more user friendly. Would highly recommend this tire as I'm on my second set and they have always been reliable!
I have been using these for 6 months on my RS81's. I chose the 25's because i ride in the country on rough chip roads. I have 95PSI in the front and 105 -110 in the rear. I've ridden over broken tar seal ,glass and loose metal and never had a puncture. I always clean the rubber surface when I get home and there is only very minor cuts on the rubber surface. I used to get a tingle in my left hand with my previous tyres and that has gone away unless I spend a few hours on the rough roads. i've only ridden in the wet twice and the grip seemed good but I was careful under breaking into corners going down hill until i learned to trust them. I've bought 2 more sets from PBK for a great price for when these wear out but there is still probably another 6 months or more left in them. i do 200k's per week. I'd say they are definitely worth a try, all my mates are using them also with no complaints cheers Hammer
These are a great training tire and feel superb on the road.
great tyres. roll well and good pucture resistance A little softer ride than the 23C
These would have to be the best tyre I have had. They are the most puncture resistant, wear & ride really well & are a good price. What more could you want. I have tried other makes and none come close to these.
Great Tire, preforms extreamly well on the road in both wet and dry conditions. very stable at high speeds and unexpectable good with resistance to punctures. Overall a great all round tire for training and racing
Great tires. I have had 2-3k of use over some pretty rough New Zealand country roads puncture free. They seem pretty quick and have great traction. Now the only clincher I buy for the road.
I have used Conti GP tyres for years they are getting better all the time and more affordable
After reading other reviewers comments about these tyres I selected them for using on hill climbing and descending. So far, they have been excellent for cornering and braking in dry and damp conditions on quite coarse tar-seal road surfaces. They are also light enough and have minimal rolling resistance that make them suitable for climbing
Great tyre - cornering, punctures minimal, good cornering and durable - use them year round for training on some pretty ordinary road surfaces.
These are awesome tyres, and handle our road conditions in New Zealand really well. Nice ride, long wearing, and bonus, good in the wet. We will not ride anything else.
these tyres were recommended to me 8 months ago as im really hard on the rubber. I was a little weary about them as more expensive tyres were not holding up, 8 months later these tyres look brand new and ive had no punctures, you would have to be a little crazy not to purchase continental grand prix 4000s,ive just received my second set but they just might have to wait awhile to get some use, 2015, maybe.
Great product, high mileage and very puncture resistant so far. Great service as always.
Great tyre,s ( as all ways with Conti,s ) arrived when they said they would, in perfect condition, all so had some energy sample,s included which was very nice. Good service and pricing as all ways with PBR makes shopping hassle free.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase. 750km and no signs of wear, no damage or punctures and all of it ridden on crappy coarsr chip roads. Great buying.
Great all round tyres. I use them for training and racing. Well priced.
These tyres are as expected. Previous set didn't get a puncture ever...
Been on 2-3 rides and one race on these GP4000s and wow, love them. Always been a big fan of another brand, but decided to try the GP4000s while on special, and wasn't disappointed. These things add 2-3kmh add speed to your ride. While I'm a casual rider, I used to ride at 26-27kmh, now with the GP4000s I can ave 30kmh. Getting fitter? Getting stronger, who knows, but the difference was immediate.
These tyres are GREAT. They are well-priced - less than half of what they cost at my LBS. Very good puncture resistance and long-wearing, I can get up to 3000km from a pair if I swap the front and back over halfway through.
Great tyres, I've never had a problem with them, very rare to get a puncture.
