Each Kurve saddle is a dynamic riding interface that moves with your every twist and turn.

The results and analysis of extensive research, together with rigorous lab and field tests, have resulted in the choice of a new material for the Re-Flex shell: Kevlar.  This provides a superior combination of flexibility and durability.

Kurve Snake Aluminium is for The Snake: Flexible Spine.

If you are very spinally flexible (far less than 90 degrees between your straight legs and your back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a Snake.  You achieve the performance position using your spinal flexibility alone, not rotating your pelvis at all.

You will like the flat, narrow and long shape of the Snake.

Re:Flex base: The entire base of all Kurve saddles is a sensory receptor that responds to the body in motion, mirroring its every twist and turn.  The Re-Flex construction is made of thermoplastic composite materials using long filament composites in specific alignments.  The result is reactive: the saddle follows the movement of the rider’s contact points, optimising the interaction between rider and saddle.

Tuner: There are 2 different tuners – soft and hard.  This interchangeable tension system allows the rider to customise their flex.  The rider can personalise the saddle tension by simply changing a screw-on insert.

Kurve Chameleon Aluminium is for The Chameleon: Medium Spine.

If you have an intermediate degree of spinal flexibility (approximately 90 degrees between your straight legs and your back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a chameleon.  Your degree of spinal flexibility helps you so far, before you need to rotate your pelvis slightly to achieve fully the performance position.
You will benefit from the increased width and slight curvature of the Chameleon shape.

Kurve Bull Aluminium is for The Bull: Rigid Spine.

If you have a relatively low degree of spinal flexibility (more than 90 degrees between your straight legs and back when bending over as far as you can, keeping your legs straight a shoulders’ width apart), you are a Bull.  Your degree of Spinal flexibility will top out quite quickly when attempting to adopt the performance position.  For this reason you will rotate you pelvis fully.
You will benefit from the increased curvature (pelvic support) of the Bull shape.

Excellent Saddle

I have both the carbon-railed and the aluminum railed versions of the Kurve Bull. (See my parallel review of the carbon railed version. ) The shells of the two saddles are identical in weight, but they are actually different materials. The Aluminum rail version is actually slightly more flexible and comfortable than the carbon-railed version. So the weight difference is just the weight of the rails. Since I had both, I put the "aluminum-railed shell" on the carbon rails to get the best of both on one bike. The other is still very comfy, but just not quite so. Fi'zi:k deserves major kudos for this innovation in saddle design. It really works. Start with saddle dead-nuts level across nose and tail, and adjust only slightly from there.
